Once again, Courtney O’Bryan’s sisters put their best feet forward in her honor.
The second annual Kicks for Courtney soccer tournament took place Wednesday outside the Kappa Delta Rho fraternity house in the Highlands neighborhood of State College.
On a frigid day, 14 teams played in memory of O’Bryan, a Sigma Delta Tau sorority member who died Dec. 2, 2011, in a car accident while on a “canning” trip to raise money for the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon.
Players included Sigma Delta Tau sisters, as well as members of fraternities, other sororities and Thon committees.
Never miss a local story.
Teams of at least six players paid $8 a person, with the proceeds going to the Courtney O’Bryan Memorial Fund that was started to ensure safe traveling procedures for canning weekends.
Thon next fills the Bryce Jordan Center Feb. 20-22, 2015.
