A head-on collision involving a Bellefonte municipal employee was reported Thursday morning.
The crash occurred at about 7:20 a.m. in the 1400 block of Zion Road.
A dark Toyota RAV4 was traveling on Zion Road toward Bellefonte and stopped at a traffic signal before turning left to go on I-99 southbound, according to Spring Township police Officer Tony Roefaro.
Witnesses told police the driver, Deren Felton, of State College, had a red light for left turns. Other drivers traveling through the intersection had the right-of-way, including a white Chevrolet driven by Bellefonte municipal employee James Brown, of Bellefonte, who was traveling on Zion Road toward Zion.

Witnesses told police the driver of the Toyota turned left and the two vehicles hit head-on.
Felton was not injured, and Brown was trapped in his vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to Mount Nittany Medical Center after firefighters freed him from the municipal van.
Each vehicle was towed from the scene by Extreme Auto Service. Traffic in the area was congested for about an hour.
Logan, Undine and Pleasant Gap fire companies were dispatched to the scene. Mount Nittany Medical Center, Centre LifeLink and Bellefonte emergency services also responded to the scene.
